Club Player Development Programs
Development Sessions facilitated by players from our Senior Teams, coaching to set programmes that will be endorsed by Taupo AFC and WaiBOP. Parent coaches will also be in attendance to support.
The purpose of this Program is to develop the technical ability and game awareness of players in a fun, learning environment. The programme is available to any player Grade 9 and up who is taking football seriously, and we ask parents and caregivers to ensure players turn up on time, with an attitude to learn and try hard.
Female players Grades 9 and up can choose to train in a Monday girls-only session; or they can chose to train in the mixed teams (above).
This is held over Terms 2/3.
Interclub Friendlies and Tournaments
Taupo AFC sends teams to several tournaments in the WaiBOP Region. These teams are made up of those who register for the Development programs and we aim to have all players who wish to experience at least one tournament or friendly.
Grade 12 – J-League Waikato or Bay of Plenty League
For Grade 12 players who want to play a higher level of football than our local competition offers, we enter a Taupo team into the J-League. This involves away games every second weekend, and 2 trainings a week. This is a Development League (scores are not recorded and a table is not kept) however, it’s still a competitive environment for those players who are starting to take football seriously.
Grade 13 – WaiBOP Federation (Youth Competitive League)
Federation Grade 13 is a competitive league, and is played 11v11. This involves away games every second weekend, and 2 trainings a week.
