Rob Williams (Smoke) played his 280th game for the first team last week, matching the record help by Ben Westerman (Westy).

Both Smoke and Westy started playing for Taupo AFC Senior Club sides in 1996 (Rob was 14 & Westy 15) & the records are amazingly similar.

Both were away overseas & elsewhere in NZ during this period, and both got soccer scholarships at University of Science & Arts, Oklahoma – Rob spent one year there while Westy was there for 3 years. Both were born and schooled in Taupo and played at all junior rep levels before playing for the Senior teams.
